“Suffusion” WordPress Theme Released!

I am happy to announce that my first serious foray into themes has gotten somewhere. The theme used by my blog currently is something that I developed (as mentioned in my last post). I submitted this on the official WordPress site on Friday and it got accepted as the 917th theme on the site after some really minor mods (I wasn’t aware that I had to explicitly GPL it). So there you have it. The theme is available at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/suffusion. The official page for this theme is on my Aquoid Themes announcements.

Feel free to shoot across bug reports, feature requests and general comments. Bouquets and brickbats will be accepted with equal grace!

  1. Thanks a lot for your great job! I like this theme very much 🙂 Here is a little comment:

    The CSS definition for .wp-caption will affect the centering behavior of images:
    .wp-caption {
    margin: 10px;
    }
    If you have defined the margin, we will not be able to center our images (even with class="wp-caption aligncenter"). So I suggest you remove this definition.

    PS: I noticed you were using the <center> tag to center your images.

  2. Thank you so much for your great theme! It is wonderful 🙂

    Still…. I also use the “page lists plus” plugin by technokinetics.com. For some reason (though I managed to with other themes) I cannot get it to work with suffusion.
    Meaning: I changed the link text and redirected a page which is a second child of a motherpage.
    The problem is that the navigation bar keeps showing the original link to the page as well as the original link text and does not redirect.
    On the other hand when it comes to the breadcrumbs they both display and redirect correctly when “Show all siblings” is chosen, but has no effect whith “show entire path to the page”.

    So I guess it must be on the way the pages are called for.
    Please have a look. Thank you in advance for all your efforts

  3. Hello: I discovered your theme and I like to try, but for some reason does not allow me to activate … gives me a result like this:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: scandir () in / home / alertape / public_html / jaliscoinforma.com.mx / wp-content / themes / suffusion / widgets / suffusion-subscription.php on line 22
    UQE I could do to use it
    For your attention, thank you

  4. Hi, Thanks for the great theme! I just upgraded to it. I have one question- How do you turn on threaded comments? I don’t seem to have it working.

    Thank you!
    Susie

  6. Your Suffusion theme is the first theme that I have downloaded and it has proved to be the perfect learning exercise for creating a static page website using WordPress as a content management system. Just about everything that I needed to learn about regarding layouts, content, widgetising is contained within your them and it will be the perfect springboard for me to make my own themess albeit it a a simpler level.

    I can’t thank you enough for making learning so enjoyable.

  7. Suffusion rocks my world… I use it at our blog at http://www.HomelandSecureIT.com/blog too =) Just upgraded it today to the latest release.

  8. Suffusion is the best WordPress theme out there! Lots of cool stuff to configure and all of it just plain works!

    Thanks for deciding to ‘experiment’ 😉

  10. I have used dozens of themes over the past two years, and this is the best free theme–maybe best theme at all–that I have ever found. It has so many options, and it can look casual or elegant. You did a great job. Thank you so much!

  11. Love this theme!

  12. Hi Sayontan,

    Suffusion is by far the best theme I have ever used on my site!

    I am having one small issue, however. I am an avid reader, and have started using the Now Reading plug-in I discovered within the options of the theme. However, I am having an issue with the Library.

    Whenever I try to view my Library, I get an error message that states: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in library.php on line 36.

    Is there some code I can replace this line with that will allow the full library to be seen?

    Thanks!

    • Dan,
      Please post this on the support forum, as directed at different places.

      Sayontan.

      • Thanks for letting me know. I have decided to just remove the Now Reading plug-in and not bother with it.

        Still love the theme though! 🙂

  13. I hired someone to come in and fix my SEO because Suffusion my favorite theme with so many design options was sending google all my tags as pages as well was my documents uploaded for download.

    I wish the suffusion people would fix this without requiring us to have a robots.text because if you robot everythign you need to it really causes Google crawl issues.

    • I actually have no idea what you mean. Suffusion doesn’t send Google anything, particularly your tags. Plus I see that your site is not using Suffusion at all – so what is it that you are talking about? Moreover I believe you are familiar with my request – please use the support forum of Suffusion for queries.
